20+ year professional singer and actor with credits including the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway 1st National Tour, international touring, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Staatsoper Berlin, and Opéra National de Paris.
The J. Sofge Vocal Studio offers classical voice training for musical theatre singers, combining the rigor of classical vocal technique with the practical demands of musical theatre and performance. Lessons are tailored to the individual singer—not to a one-size-fits-all method.

With over 20 years of experience as a professional actor and singer, Jason Sofge is a New York City voice teacher whose work bridges the worlds of classical vocal technique and musical theatre performance. He is a member of the Vocal Faculty at Drew University and a Professional Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), specializing in a classical approach to musical theatre voice.
Jason brings extensive performance experience into the studio, his credits spanning across genres and including the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway National Touring, International touring, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Staatsoper Berlin, and Opéra National de Paris.
He helps singers develop not only the mechanics of singing, but the freedom, confidence, musicality, and interpretive skills that make technique meaningful.
He works with young singers discovering their voices, pre-professionals preparing for auditions and college programs, and working professionals looking to strengthen their technique and expand their repertoire.
